On Australia Day (26th Jan) Microsoft has commissioned for some custom satellite and aerial images to be taken of Australia Day events around the country. This custom imagery will be overlaid on to VE maps to compliment the events listings and user contributed photos. Behind the scenes the VE map uses some interesting technology that you can explore including: Pushpin clustering, Custom Pushpin Popup's, on demand content loading for popups, Web service throttling, MS AJAX RC 1.
